Admittedly, I’ve not been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider series. I’ve played a few of the older titles, and I have the collection on Steam, but it’s never been much more than a filler in my gaming library; a series that ‘I’ll play through one day‘.
That being said, I was immediately intrigued at the early mentions of a TR reboot, one that would show us the origin story of our historically disproportionate heroine and give her more of a gritty, vulnerable feel. The final product, simply called Tomb Raider, is not only a staggeringly beautiful action adventure game, but its combination of visuals, stealth/action gameplay and story also serves to reinvigorate a series and a character that were becoming stale.
Lara’s character development is front and center.

The first new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series in over 5 years, GTA V, hits shelves on September 17, 2013. One of the most anticipated games in recent memory, it has gamers salivating over speculation, screenshots and videos teasing everything from a new 3-character story arc, beautiful hi-def visuals and a brilliant bustling city to the coveted Shack on the Hill – which (unless the droves of Reddit users have their way and make Rockstar bow to their demands) has still yet to be confirmed to contain anything at all.

The Call of Duty: Ghosts multi-player was revealed today, and here are some of the details:
First and foremost, the game’s single player, multi-player, co-op and second screen all run at 60 FPS on all platforms, both current gen and next-gen.
Ghosts features 7 new game modes, including Cranked (similar to TD, when you get a kill, you become faster, reload faster, but you gain a ‘countown clock’ that kills you unless you kill someone else in a certain time limit) and Search and Rescue (when you die, you drop a tag, if an ally picks it up you re-spawn, but if an enemy picks it up, you die).
There are also 30+ new weapons and a new weapon class called “Marksman”, which bridges the gap between the Sniper class and the Assault class, giving you long range guns that can be used as scoped semi-automatic sniper rifles or as an iron-sight…

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate confused me a little while playing it. I, admittedly, am not the biggest Castlevania fan, but I played the awesome Symphony of the Night, and immediately became interested in the series. This game, however, didn’t really live up to my expectations. It is a serviceable entry into the Castlevania lore, but lacks the flare that made other iterations in this series so awesome. The GTA V Multiplayer was just revealed in a short video released by Rockstar this morning, and it’s looking like we have a winner on our hands.
Rockstar claims that its GTA Online is all about “having fun and getting into trouble”, and the trailer described exactly that.
According to Rockstar, “You can run around on your own, making friends and enemies, or band together and form a crew and tackle a heist, rob a liquor store, or compete in classic online modes. Complete any job and you’ll earn money and reputation that allows you to further customize your character, including their outfit, weapon of choice, and favorite vehicle.
As you make some real money, maybe you’ll buy an apartment so friends can stop by and hang out. Or buy a garage, fill it with custom vehicles, and then take them racing by land, air or sea, or simply cruise around, showing…
